Fun with the Voelckers

We are so happy to have spent some time with Jake & Robyn and their cute kids while in Utah.  We love them!  Here are some pictures of the great memories!

Here are some pictures from the night we shot guns together in the back yard.  I'm just missing a picture of Robyn...hmm....don't know where that one went.

Above, the Walker children are fighting over Cheetos.

My favorite!  Thank you for getting together with us Voelckers family!  We love you!!

Kaitlyn on obedience

A piece of a lecture on obedience I over heard being taught by Kate.

Kate to Julia: "First I do it and then say I wont, and then do it again."

Lots of good times

We have been busy lately but here are a couple of things that have happened over the past couple of months :)  Jason graduated at the end of April at the top of his class with his BS in Behavioral Science.  That was a lengthy family project but definitely worth it.  We are so so proud of Jason.
 Here he is walking in...
Jason's younger sister Christy, his dad Ernie and mother, Sherrie.
Jason's brother in law Tony, Jack and Katy.  I can't believe we made it through the ceremony with three kids.
Here are a few pictures of Leah on the drive from New York to Utah with Grandma Cathy.  The first one is on the plane in the two empty seats next to me.  It's so wonderful when it works out that way.
 Buffalo...already a mess.
Still in New York...clothes already off   :)
This was the following day in the one of the "I"s ...Indiana or Illinois...I don't remember.  But she's doing well.
Clothes off.....that ice cream saved the afternoon.
So did this little box of shredded wheat...
At Ellen's house :)  That was such a nice stop and it was great to see her and Kevin and have a real meal.  And we all slept so so well.  These are just a random couple of shots I took with the phone but overall, Leah did really great.  There was a meltdown in Cleveland going through the city when we couldn't pull over but after that, after she accepted the fact that she probably would be in that seat like that for the rest of her life, she did great.
Mom and the girls at the opening of the Provo splash pad.  We will be seeing a lot of that this summer.

I found this picture of my phone the other day.  I think Kate took the photo :)
And a few months ago, Kate had a transportation parade at preschool.   She wanted to make an airplane and she named it Blueberry Air because she loves blueberries so much.

She painted the blueberries all over it and glued a blueberry carton with blueberries in it on top.
Jack and Kate both graduated from school this spring but I will have to post those pictures another time.

Beachy

It is Spring Break for Jack and Kaitlyn and we have let the three older kids stay up late for a  couple of nights this week.  Those late nights caught up with all of us this morning.  Everyone was tired and crabby and totally bored with everything by 9am.  So we left the house.  We headed up to the park at the Resevior above Spanish Fork.  We played on the eequipment until that got boring and then we walked down to the water.

The kiddos are in that old brush looking for animal trails and worms and Julia found some acorns.

The weather was nice although not that warm but all of the kids, including Leah, wanted to get in the water.
Leah sat on the sand for a while and then I was holding her for a little bit and then she just had to sit in the water.  It was fun and nice to get out of the house for a couple of hours.

Good weather

Last Sunday we went up to see the Provo City Center temple under construction for family home evening.  It is really amazing to see all of the work going on.

The weather has been so incredibly beautiful lately.  We have had a few days in the 70s and the kids just could not wait any longer so one afternoon we got out the sprinkler, suits and sunscreen.  They had a lot of fun.  Leah sat nearby in the stoller, dry and warm. :)  They came to me and told me they were gettting chilly so I told them to shake their bums to get warm.

And Kaitlyn and Julia are always playing dress up.  They go from this....

 (planting tulips)  to this....
on a 70 degree day.  That's a horse that Julia has on.

And every year at this time down at the Hari Krishan temple there is a HUGE festival of colors.  It attracts more and more people every year.  Usually annoying high school students and college freshman who think it's the coolest thing in the whole wide world.  But to people who live within 5 miles of the temple (us) it is a total inconvience.  Especially when you have to return library books that day or pick up a replacement turkey breast for easter dinner that the damn cat slipped in and ate last night.  People literally walk for miles and wait in traffic for an hour or more to go and throw colored chalk at eachother.

I counted seven of these shuttles that are packed full of people taking them to and from the festivites.

The only good part was that we were able to get a shake on the way home for the kids and Leah ended up eating it with her hands.
Way to be postive, right?  I just hate cats.
